Marc Williams made a presentation to writers at a conference sponsored by California Lawyers for the Arts and the LA Writers Center at the Moving Arts Theatre in Los Angeles. The presentation covered the basics of copyright and idea submission law, and focused on the requirements for prevailing in a lawsuit for copyright infringement and breach of implied contract.
Marc discussed examples of cases from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the California Court of Appeal. Marc also shared his thoughts on practical steps writers can take to protect their rights. This is the second time Marc has made this presentation at an event sponsored by California Lawyers for the Arts. The first took place on September 29, 2010, in Santa Monica.
