One LLP is pleased to announce that William J. O’Brien has joined the Firm as a partner in the Santa Monica office.

A former O’Melveny & Myers partner, Bill is a highly experienced intellectual property litigator who has successfully led jury trials of major patent cases and has argued numerous appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and other federal and state appellate courts.

Recipient of the prestigious Super Lawyer award, Bill has extensive experience with patent, trademark, trade dress, copyright, trade secret, and idea submission cases and with a wide range of technologies, including medical devices, consumer electronics, software, optics, aerospace, manufacturing equipment, diagnostics, and chemicals, as well as business-method patents.

Bill was a co-founder and Co-Chair of the Patent and Technology Litigation Practice Group at O’Melveny & Myers. Bill also was a partner and the senior patent litigator at Alschuler Grossman Stein & Kahan (later the Santa Monica office of Bingham McCutchen), a renowned trial firm with special expertise in intellectual property and entertainment law.
