Patent Prosecution
Ken is a patent attorney with extensive experience in areas of strategic patent portfolio development and management, foreign and domestic patent prosecution, patent licensing, and patent litigation. With a background in mechanical engineering, Ken has 20 years of experience in intellectual property including counseling, prosecution. licensing and litigation regarding patents, trademarks, and trade secrets. He is skilled in assisting a wide range of clients, from start-ups to universities to well established corporations, in a wide range of technologies, ranging from semiconductor devices, communication systems, consumer electronics and software to medical devices, carburetors and plasma energy systems. Ken has successfully prosecuted hundreds of patent applications for clients in the medical, mechanical, electromechanical, electrical, electronic, computer, software, semiconductor, optical, chemical, nanotechnology, and plasma physics spaces, and has counseled clients on matters of strategic planning, patent portfolio development and management, technology transfer and assessment, license agreements, and freedom-to-operate.
Prior to joining One LLP, Ken was a partner with some of the top law firms in the country, including Lyon & Lyon; Orrick, Herrington, & Sutcliffe; and Dickstein Shapiro.
Before law school, Ken was an applications engineer for Ingersoll Rand, Air Compressor Group, and a sales engineer for a San Diego based computer consulting group regarding computer-aided-design software.
